ODACS: Old Dominion Association of Christian Schools
ODACS (Old Dominion Association of Church Schools) holds an annual competition among Christian schools. The Bible/Fine Arts competition held in March includes five areas of competition: Bible, Music, Art, Speech, and Academics. The ODACS Track competition held in April/May includes track and field competitions.
Fourth through twelfth grade students may participate in ODACS. Some areas of competition may require that the student be a member of the classroom elective. For instance, band performers will need to be in band class and vocal music group competitors need to be in choir. However, this is not to say that a student not in band or choir could not compete in a solo instrumental or vocal category. All students participate in the preliminary in-school competition. Those selected from the in-school competition represent FBS at the regional competition. Students competing at level 2 and level 3 who receive first place at the regional level compete in a state competition. Students competing at level 3 who receive first place at the state level compete in a national competition in Greenville, South Carolina. There is no national competition for track and field. Dates for these competitions are found in the school calendar.

Music: FBS has an award-winning senior high band and offers a full band program for 5th – 12th grades as well as ministry opportunities for senior high band students.
Sports: A comprehensive sports program exists for students in 7th – 12th grades. We offer volleyball, basketball, soccer, and cheerleading for the ladies and soccer, basketball, and baseball for the young men. Junior varsity and varsity teams may be formed for each sport. The ODACS competition in the spring provides opportunities for participation in track and field events. The sports program requires both academic and deportment eligibility. Those who participate in the sports program are to display a Christian testimony on and off the playing field. Coaches and advisors for the sports program are chosen and approved by the athletic director and the school administrator.
Elementary: A youth recreation program is available to 1st – 6th grade students through Faith Baptist Church. Soccer (fall), basketball (winter), and tee-ball (spring) are offered, and all teams are co-ed. Students who wish to participate in the program turn in a completed registration form with the registration fee by the deadline date for the season. The program teaches the children the basics of the sport and allows them to play intramural games. Each season lasts about ten weeks. Practices and games are played on Saturday mornings.
